Mountains : Lidia Malynowskyj
sculpture & instalation (Project for the Göcseji Village Museum, Zalaegerszeg, Hungary)

The mountains is an instalation piece that have as a purpose to question how we establish particularly ways of seeing the landscape. Inside our collective unconscious we standardized the image of an ideal landscape as a horizon with an arrangement of some sections of nature, such as mountains, lakes, trees and fields. In this project the effort is focused on the attempt to transmit the essence of mountains without truly being one.
This work was installed in the garden of Göcseji Falu Múzeum – Göcsej Village Museum, Zalaegrszeg, Hungary.

Most of the works produced during the residency are about the relationship between men and nature and how we try to see the landscape in a human way. Sculptures, ceramics, instalation, paintings and projection are the results of the research in Zalaegerszeg, considering the history and nature of the environment.

Lidia Malynowskyj is a Brazilian artist and sculpture teacher, graduated in visual arts by Faculdade Santa Marcelina, São Paulo. She mostly works with sculpture, installation and photography. She is invested in the idea of how human a landscape can be and how we see human characteristics in nature. She is more focused at making works based on mountains, rocks, glaciers and anything connected to the geological and archaeological world.
