IT HAS BEEN DEBATED HOW MUCH OF HIS/HER TIME AN ARTIST SHOULD ALLOCATE TO PURE, SELFISH, NON-PROFIT-MAKING PRODUCTION. WELL, D’CLINIC WILL INDEED NOT RESOLVE THIS DILEMMA. ANYHOW, AS AN
ARTIST-FOCUSED PLACE WE ARE HERE TO GRANT YOU WITH THE LUXURY OF UNINTERRUPTED WORKING TIME FOR REALIZATION OF YOUR CREATIVE AMBITIONS.

WHO WE ARE

Founded in January 2012 D’CLINIC is an artist-run space designed to deliver a supportive community where artists can focus on their own creative practice and/or research, share skills and knowledge, interact or collaborate in a vibrant multidisciplinary environment free from constraint, harshness or formality.

We started out in Lendava, a small town in the northeast of Slovenia, but moved across the border, to Hungary in July 2015.

D’CLINIC is a space where creative experiments should be made; it strives to provide a meeting place where the guest artists are offered an opportunity to participate in an activity that is both geographically and conceptually removed from their usual studio practice.

We believe the art-creation process is something sacred and thus we assist our artists as much as possible in order for them to concentrate solely on their production. Artists are enabled to work intensively and independently in an encouraging and intimate environment.

  • WE ARE HERE TO:

  • allow creative self-development, experimentation and artistic innovation,
  • support the development of new work,
  • challenge your creative thinking,
  • foster cultural dialogue and / or exchange,
  • facilitate professional development opportunities

  • OTHER ADVANTAGES:

  • share your art practice giving an artist’s talk,
  • obtain firsthand response from the public and/or experts via an exhibition,
  • get media exposure,
  • have a workshop; for example at a school,
  • collaborate with a museum or other local (cultural) institution
  • visit studios of local artists, network.

D’CLINIC supports both established, mid-career as well as emerging arts practitioners; regardless of whether visual artist, musician, curator, theorist, writer,…

HOW TO APPLY

after selecting your preferred research-platform, follow the associated online application link provided

Applicants are expected to give a clear vision/ idea about their stay in the residency. Your plans however do not have to be ‘engraved to stone’ so you may change them later if you want. Overall artistic freedom is one of our key values and all our residents will have it. The information is required for us to make sure we are able to provide the relevant expertise and facilities for your project. But also because, we’d like to keep the place a CREATIVE CENTER and prevent it from turning into a “holiday resort”.
