D’CLINIC IS A
PARTNER PLATFORM FOR : :

Friday / 10JULY2015

Dear D’CLINIC artists, friends, fans, supporters…

we moved to a new studio to a new city; but this story started with an unexpected (almost) shocking twist:

About 3-4 weeks ago D’CLINIC received a letter from the institution we were renting our studio in Lendava, stating that they urgently need the space back for their activities and are therefore quitting the contract with us – just like that, in the middle of our residency season; we had to leave the studio space with the end of June.

Rather than feeling sorry for ourselves and accepting half-solutions that could have negative impact on our programme and work, we decided to “flashforward”, take advantage of the situation and accepted the invitation by our colleagues over the border to implement the changes we were actually planning for 2016. Following our mission and development strategy D’CLINIC is thus going for new adventures in Zalaegerszeg. To the city / artist community we were collaborating with strongly in the past 2 years.

Despite all the troubles and inconvenience caused by the sudden loss of our studio space in Lendava, we are looking forward to the new location and the changes that are coming with it.

We are proud to present that we managed to find/move into a new studio that is actually bigger and brighter than the previous one. The first resident artists already occupied the space and it seems they are enjoying the benefits of this new surroundings.

Funnily the unpleasant situation we were pushed into opened new perspectives and unexpected offers for collaboration. Therefore the process of (re)organisation will continue throughout the year. Since Lendava and Zalaegerszeg are part of the same geographical region we plan to offer cross-border collaborative residencies (between Slovenia and Hungary) in the near future.

A special thank you to everyone who stood by and helped to turn a “bad news” into an opportunity to progress; D’CLINIC (its ideas, mission, and way of work) is staying the “same old” but our centre is moving few km northward.

With kind regards,
Katja Pál
