LINDA and NIKOLA were both struck by the
presence of extensive gardens in Lendava. The artists see the gardens as a way
to understand more about the people who live here. They have undertaken to
investigate these gardens, asking about the history of special plants and
looking for gardening stories. Their responses to these gardens take the form
of a series of posters. With the posters the artists have written texts
referencing highlights about the gardens. These texts are personal and
anecdotal rather than scientific.
The artists also wanted to show to the
citizens of Lendava some kind of indication of the value that they have placed
on the plants, bushes and trees that they have enjoyed here. They have inserted
‘like’ signs throughout the town in appropriate locations.
In addition, they are also asking Lendava
and area residents to post these ‘Like’ signs in locations that are
particularly important to them. We would appreciate if they could take a photo
of the location where they have put their sign, and post this to the
