We are looking for cultural and artistic diversity thus we are encouraging creative individuals in all fields to apply: visual artists, musicians, writers, theorists, dancers…
can we come as an artist duo (or group) ?
You can; however, you need to apply individually and you’ll be both/all assigned to a different artist partner
MiXER is a cross-disciplinary collaboration experiment or as we call it “a playground” where artists from diverse art disciplines and cultural backgrounds are encouraged to engage, share methodologies and inspire each other.
With the task of working in pairs artists are given the opportunity to regenerate their creative dynamism, exchange and develop new ideas; experiment with no fear of failure and thus assess their own artistic processes – learning valuable insights from other art forms.
MiXER urges dialogue and interchange of ideas and should be seen as an opportunity to try out different types of working processes. With a focus on experimental research and discussion.
try out a cross-disciplinary collaboration,
work with and learn from interesting artists,
get an artists’ book published,
show your work at an exhibition/residency-closing event,
get media exposure and an opportunity to exhibit within a MiXER group show.
MiXER is an independent and flexible three-weeks programme with a structured outcome. The selected artists from diverse artistic disciplines are paired up to work collaboratively on a new body of work. Furthermore, their task is to assemble an ARTISTS’ BOOK covering the leading aspects of their collaboration.
- The residency ends with a PUBLIC PRESENTATION of the completed project.
- The designed ARTIST’S BOOK is published as a limited edition artifact;
- all but two copies of the published book remain to the participating artists.
Each residency at D’CLINIC starts with an art-dinner followed by a “meet the new artist” event, organised at one of our partner institutions; here artists are asked to share (have a presentation) their artistic experiences with the peer group and other interested crowd.
once a month we open the studio for a so-called CRITIQUE EVENING // an opportunity for artists to present their ongoing/in-progress / work and get a first handed response from the public as well as invited art professionals.
the published books are also promoted outside the four walls of our studio:
