how long can I stay : 2 or 4 weeks
when can I come :

does my art practice fit the programme?

We are looking for cultural and artistic diversity thus we are encouraging creative individuals in all fields to apply: visual artists, musicians, writers, theorists, dancers…

Participants are selected based on the quality of their current works, and more on their commitment to participate in this extraordinary creative programme.

can we come as an artist duo (or group) ?

You can; however, you need to apply individually, as for this collaboration you’ll be both/all assigned to a different artist partner.

ABOUT

MiXER is a cross-disciplinary collaboration experiment or as we call it “a playground” where artists from diverse artistic disciplines and cultural backgrounds are encouraged to engage, share methodologies, and inspire each other.

With the task of working in pairs, artists are given the opportunity to regenerate their creative dynamism, exchange, and develop new ideas.

Experiment with no fear of failure, trying out different types of working processes, and thus assess their own artistic processes while learning valuable insights from other artists and/or art forms.

With a focus on experimental research and discussion, we hope to foster an innovative interplay in the working manner of creative thinkers and art professionals, which may have an interdisciplinary character.

Open to artists working in any creative media who are not troubled by risk and experimentation in the creation of their work.

GOALS & MISSION
  • to encourage new, personalized channels for communication,
  • to stimulate cultural exchange,
  • to connect people threw creativity,
  • to blend the distances between old and new technologies and/or artistic genres.
SET-UP

MiXER is an independent and flexible two or four weeks programme with a structured outcome. The selected artists from diverse artistic disciplines are paired up to work collaboratively on a new body of work.

Furthermore, their task is to assemble a (digital) ARTISTS’ BOOK covering the leading aspects of their collaboration.

For this task, artists are offered uninterrupted, self-directed work time, with 24/7 studio access; but if needed mentorship and/or assistance are also available.

  • The residency ends with a PUBLIC PRESENTATION of the completed project.
  • The designed ARTIST’S BOOK is published on all our online platforms.

The offered working space is flexible and generally adapted to each collaboration duo’s individual requirements and needs.
